“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain: When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” ~Haruki Murakami
Who were you when you stepped foot into JeniFit Studios? Who were you a year ago? Who are you now? A year is a long time – a long time to grow and to change into the beautiful person you were born to be. Take the time right now to reflect on the person you have become in 2015. Are you stronger? Physically and mentally? Fitter? Healthier? A better mom? A better listener? A better friend? Sister? Wife? Husband? Father? Who are you today that you might not have been a year ago? Take the time now to honor this person that you have become. Typically, around this time, we start thinking about new year’s resolution (I’m going to lose 10 pounds this year! I am going to work less! I am going to make more money!). But today, I want you to stop for a minute and really honor yourself. It’s not easy showing up for class or personal training or your nutrition meeting each week. Its not easy eating healthy when the rest of your friends and family might eat whatever they want. Its not easy balancing work, a family, a healthy social life and yourself. BUT YOU DID IT! You may not remember it all – it may seem like a blur because we are constantly moving and on the go. But today, I ask you to really reflect on the changes you have made in your life – both big and small. I know a lot of people struggle with fitness and health during the holidays. So instead of saying “I was terrible – I ate so much food these past few days,” stop and tell yourself “hey, last year, I wouldn’t be here working it all off! I would be laying in bed – giving up!” Who are you now that you weren’t a year ago? Who helped you become this person? Family? Friends? Teachers? Trainers? Religious figures? What inner strengths did you pull out of you to make it through a whole year – becoming a better person? Resilience? Determination?
As the year comes to a close, celebrate this person you have become and pledge to leave that “old you” in the past. Go forward into the new year knowing that you are physically and mentally stronger and that you are more than capable of facing any storm that life throws at you. You are becoming your greatest self – you are on your own path to self-love and self-actualization. Continue on that path with passion and know that you are supported every time you step into Jeni-Fit Studios.
We are so proud of all that you have accomplished this year!
