IF YOU ARE MINDFUL WITH YOUR EATING AND YOUR EXERCISE YOU WILL FEEL LIBERATED RATHER THAN RESTRICTED & IT WILL BOOST YOUR ENERGY.
For this week, let’s focus on mindfulness in exercise.
EXERCISE SHOULD BE TAKEN LIKE YOUR DAILY PERSCRIPTION – FOR HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE. WORK IT IN WHEREVER POSSIBLE – AIM TO REV YOUR METABOLISM SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
Rather than inviting a friend to breakfast of lunch invite him or her to take an exercise class or go for a bike ride. Take the steps rather than an elevator or escalator whenever possible. In the afternoon when you are feeling sleepy go for a quick power walk around the block or up and down the steps in your office rather than grabbing for another cup of coffee or that extra snack. And for goodness sake, don’t spend ten minutes driving around the mall or grocery parking lots looking for the “best” spot. The best spot is actually the one that gives you a chance to high tail it across the parking lot and rev your metabolism yet again today!
LIKE BRUSHING YOUR TEETH, EXERCISE IS A LIFESTYLE, DON’T’ EVEN THINK ABOUT IT – JUST DO IT!CONSISTENCY IS KEY IN CREATING A LIFESTYLE!
EASIER SAID THAN DONE, RIGHT? HOW DO WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
IT ALL STARTS WITH A PLAN – FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL!
START YOUR WEEK WITH A CALENDAR:
1-WHEN ARE YOU EXERCISING – input 3-5 appointments with yourself in the beginning of the week and treat those exercise appointments as sacred as you would a Doctor’s appointment.
PEOPLE SHOULD BE TAKING EXERCISE, LIKE A MEDICINE. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY SHOULD BE A STANDARD PART OF OUR DISEASE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT PLAN IN THIS COUNTRY. PHYSICAL INACTIVITY CAN HAVE AN ARRAY OF HARMFUL HEALTH EFFECTS – DON’T LET THAT BE YOU!
YOU MUST SET YOUR INTENTION AND VOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST.
